Will Ryman "PacLab"

Each of the hand-sculpted elements of the labyrinth was scanned at a high resolution to capture fingerprints and other small details that would translate in the enlargement process.  The scans were scaled up to 48" in height and milled out of foam.  A hard resin coating was sprayed over the foam to make the pieces durable enough to survive being climbed on.

The piece was exhibited in Parc la Villette in Paris and Art Omi in NY.
